Wow. I am so happy and my heart is full. I got an email a few weeks ago letting me know that I had been cited in No More Police: A Case for Abolition by Mariame Kaba and Andrea Ritchie.
When the book came and I got to see my words quoted in it, it was a beautiful and humbling moment. I so often feel that I’m writing into a void. But this book is brilliantly put together for a wide audience and for organizers broadly. It made me feel like my struggle to be a scholar of and within the fight for abolition has been succeeding more than I’m willing to admit. This encouragement could not have come at a better time.
